Magic Crochet No. 86
Mood:
energetic
Topic: Pictures
My poor neglected blog. It has been extremely busy here. The older girls are getting ready for the Kinsmen Festival, so there are extra practices. My younger two are good, trying to rush the homework to go out and play in the nice weather. :) Let's see... March all the kids and DH had the flu (I was perfectly healthy...thank you!), the fridge started acting like the oven (replaced it), DH's grandmother passed away :(, March break, then the washer went (DH fixed it). And now it's April. Fresh air, rain and sunshine! These are all from the Magic Crochet No. 86 (October 1993). "Santa's Coming" (page 4) doesn't have his eyes on in this picture.
"Holly Oval" (page 10) I have made two of these - one for my grandmother, then one for me.

"Floral Duet" (page 32)

"Nice Visit" (page 54)

I am also working on the "Snowflake Tablecloth" and "Flower Basket" pillow cover; have made the pillow covers for the "Xmas Duo" (no pillows yet); need to take a picture of the "Holiday Coasters", "Victoria" doily and "Holly Coasters"; also want to make "Quadrille" - all from the same issue. I think this is the best issue I have and it's falling apart from so much use!
I'm off..have to get the kids at school.

It's been a long week and it's not over yet. DH went to Virginia last weekend for the Winter Karate Camp. He left on Thursday, came back 4:30 am Monday morning. Monday morning my oldest two came home not feeling good. Within a half hour of being home, their temperatures were 102.8. Last night the fridge decided to warm up to us. So my son's othodontist appointment today needs to be cancelled. He probably wouldn't have gotten his braces today, anyway. He still has a lot of baby teeth. Now it's ERday! The older girls temperatures are down and their little sister's is up to 100.4. So evertone is home from school. My son likes "free" days. So...I haven't really done a whole lot of crocheting. My oldest did squeal a little when she got her shawl. She had one of those very big grins for a couple of days. Her twin now wants a shrug. And I made up three more scrunchies, two much fuller. I started on the Super Size Crochet Tote at Marlo's and have done the April Showers Doily at Denise's. I'll try to get photos later. Off to take care of the little ones. 2twins :)

Saturday Again

Topic: New Hooks & Blue Jeans
Another few days have gone. I have received the Boye Master Crochet hook set and two Imra's (1.85 and 1.95 mm). DH got a little annoyed when I told him how many I have. 51! Thirty three different sizes. Of the others, 3 are afghan hooks, 3 are ones we bought our oldest daughters (I took them until they are interested in learning again), and a couple have were replacements for misplacements. I then told DH that I'd like to get my hands on one of the crystallite ones for a couple of hours to see if I like them. hehe He sighed and walked away. I do use them.
The Blue Jeans Shawl Was done for Crochet Talk's Crochet Along. It was very quick and easy to make up. Okay, here's the really good part. The one wearing it the photo (my oldest daughter) gets it as soon as she reads this. LOL I'll let you know how high the pitch is when she screams. They have been asking me for days if I have written yet. I made the scrunchie from the same pattern, she's getting this also. I'm going to whip up 3 more scrunchies for the rest of us girls.
I have started the shirt from the newest Magic Crochet magazine. It's not going well. I haven't crocheted sweaters and things before. Knit yes, crochet no. I'm going to keep trying for a while though. I really like the shirt.
I'm off to do more laundry.

Snowy and Blowy
It's snowing and blowing out. I'm wondering where I'm going to put the snow tomorrow. The banks are starting to get high. I love the snow. :) The kids and DH are good. I finally finished the Ring of Love Doily and Snowflake Ornament. I changed the Colour ribbon and beads the the Snowflake Ornament. All of the snowflake ornaments that stay here are done with white cotton with the filament running through it. It adds a little more sparkle. :) I'm working on the Blue Jeans Shawl with Crochet Talk's Crochet Along. It's coming along beautifully. Hopefully, will be done this tomorrow or the day after; There's a shirt in the new Magic Crochet magazine I want to do. 2twins :)

Valentine Doily Candy Dish
Mood:
spacey
Another uneventful day. Yeah! My second oldest daughter stayed home 'cause "I don't feel good." When it looks like you can see through her skin, yep, she stays home - no fever though. My oldest didn't know there wasn't choir after school, so missed the bus and DH picked her up a little earlier. The younger two had a quiet day, too. My 'dish' finished drying and turned out well. Time to do a Valentine's album. 2twins :)

Happy Valentine's Day!
Mood:
irritated
Today started with "Mom, where's my red dress?!" from my youngest daughter. Not "Good morning." I didn't answer, just went outside and had a smoke. I come back in and my son's comment is "I have no red shirts or pants!" Why did I get up today? OK, so, now I'm really annoyed. Get them dressed (in red), then DH says the buses aren't running. So, the older two stay home. So much for the quiet day. They sit behind me and giggle as they read fanfic on their pc. Erg!
I made DH a card. I had started it last night but had to frog (which I hate doing). It's very easy and quick to make. You can find the pattern here: Valentine Card. I didn't get the shawl started (don't have the right yarn). I will try to get more pictures uploaded tomorrow, I think. Maybe Valentine and more fashion doll photos.
I'm off to help my son with his math.

Valentine Doily ?
Quiet day. My youngest daughter went to a birthday party, she and my son finished their science fair projects, that was about it. I finished up another Valentine Doily this morning. This one doesn't lay flat. So I'm going to make a 'bowl' (candy dish) out of it. Spent the afternoon pinning it out. I'll stiffen it tomorrow, do another square for the couch-ghan and start a shawl. I'm off to check the weather and maybe watch some ER and crochet. 2twins :)

Oops!
Mood:
lazy
OK. So, I haven't been writing. It gets a little busy here at times. My oldest daughter has decided to drop out of band. :( Very dissappointing, but she's not enjoying the flute. She is staying in the choir though. :) There rest of the kids are good. The youngest two have been working on their science fair projects. Almost done! Yeah!!!! DH dislocated his toe at karate. (Gee, I wonder why I don't want our ten year olds in it.) I winced ever time he took a step for about two days. He was better about it than I was. LOL I have finished the middle section of DH's "I Love You" couch-ghan. He keeps looking at it, wondering when I'll be finished. ;)
I need to fix up the monogram square; but overall, I think it looks good. I'm trying to use all different squares from the internet, resizing to 6" when needed and whip-stitching them together after enough for a "round" of squares. The red half squares are all the same pattern though. I'll try to set up an album for pictures of the individual squares.
I have also made a couple of doilies, another coaster and scrunchies. I received two more of the calendar doll series yesterday. I'm going to start one soon. I'm working on another doily that just doesn't want to lay flat. So, I'm going to starch it into a candy dish.
I'm off to do laundry, work on doily and see how the kids are doing on their dratted science fair projects. Hopefully, I'll be back soon.

Quiet Day
Mood:
hungry
I hope everyone's having a nice quiet Saturday. Hubby picked up a new blind for the living room and put it up, mostly set up the new PC and got on the kids cases about cleaning their rooms. I picked up the Valentine doily, again. I think I started it about two years ago. Got bored. Put it down. I now only have to sew the outer trim to the doily itself. I AM going to block the doily from the Hass crochet-along tonight. Hopefully I will figure out how to make my pictures smaller for here. If not, I'll try to figure out the albums. *sigh* Nothing's ever simple. Well, going to make some onion soup and salad to go with salami subs. Have a good one. 2twins :)

Something New
Mood:
not sure
Well, I thought I'd try this out. Seems everywhere I look now there's a new "blog". I think I'll start a photo album collection as well..maybe even a website. Oh well, getting ahead of myself again. First of all... NO, my name isn't redundant. There are more and more of us with "multiple" multiples. I have two (yes, two) sets of twins aged 13 and 10. My oldest are are girls and are possibly identical. My youngest are a girl and a boy, obviously fraternal. I have been married for 15 years, mostly happy and always busy. We met at a party 17 years ago and I saw him at his worst...lol. I knew then that he was the one. I wouldn't know what to do without him. (I know...kinda sappy) Worf is my Pug/ Pekingese who has happily trained all of us (even some of the neighbours). He's a good lap-watch-play dog. And he loves the mailman. He whines and cries for the mailman to pet him. What do I do? hmmmmm...let's see. Take care of my kids and when they aren't around CROCHET!> Patterns, hooks, thread, yarn, camera...snowflake, angel, fashion doll, holiday, coaster, bookmarks. I have a stash of patterns from the internet (printed and stored), magazines and published designs. I usually don't filet, but everything (I think) else goes. I also knit; can cross-stitch, plastic canvas, embroider and sew. I read (to myself and to my kids), listen to music. Don't know what else right now. I want to show off my projects and dog, update my friends and family on what's going on and generally get things off my chest. I'll probably put lots of links here as well. I'm off for now, going to check on my rashy son then take the dog out. 2twins :)
